There’s a gap between the knowledge research produces and the people who need that information to make better choices. NLP Canada Training closes that gap by transforming information into practices that will get you from where you are to where you want to be.
Practical, effective tools for managing your thoughts and emotions so you can influence, adapt and innovate.
Focus on skills that make a difference in the way you observe and understand other people.
For more than 20 years, we have been adapting the core of NLP to align with the best, current science.
Our live, interactive training on Zoom anchors your learning to your own space and makes it easy to practice your skills.
We offer workshops, seminar series and advanced trainings so you can continue your development after certification.
NLP Canada Training continues a long and proud history of NLP as it was developed in Canada by Derek Balmer. Balmer was certified by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in one of the earliest NLP trainings. Since then, we have been training continuously for almost 30 years. Linda Ferguson acquired the company in 2011 and is proud to continue a tradition of independent development of NLP.
We are not affiliated with any other NLP associations. We value the ability to innovate as new information becomes available about how people perceive, think and act. Our commitment is to bring the best current thinking to our clients and to adapting practices to fit that thinking. We only teach the practices of NLP that we believe are aligned with the best current research into how people work.
Since 2003, we have been more than a company that provides training. We are an active community that learns and innovates together. Our practitioners are welcome to return to develop skills and fresh understanding and to share it with new people. We host regular events so that our community can develop both networks and learning that benefit us all.
We also connect often through our social media, including private groups where our graduates inspire each other.

Linda Ferguson became a partner at NLP Canada Training in 2003 and has been the sole owner since 2011. She is Canada’s leading innovator in the field of NLP (neurolinguistic programming) and continually develops new methods and new programs for applying NLP to the problems people most want to solve.
Before she encountered NLP, Linda was an accomplished communication teacher with a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Toronto, an M. A. from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. from Trent University. She is currently a member of the faculty of the Pilon School of Business at Sheridan College. Linda has worked with learners of all ages to help them find their voices, improve their impact, and understand the patterns at work in their lives and businesses.
Since joining NLP Canada Training, Linda has worked with teams and individuals from a variety of roles and businesses. She’s an effective trainer and coach for leaders who want to make a difference and team-members who want to make change happen or who need help managing change around them.
Linda Ferguson believes that we must transform the best research into practices that make a difference in how we think and act. She is committed to updating the programs at NLP Canada Training to align with the best current science. She also believes that the arts and humanities are essential not just to better communication but to better recognition of patterns in behavior and situations.
The answer she’ll give is that NLP gave her a new commitment to getting what she wants. That means taking a moment when things are difficult and asking: ‘what do I want? do I still want it? what do I need to change to move forward?” It sounds simple, but it’s the difference between bouncing from conflict to frustration and committing to optimism and results.
Linda Ferguson has published three books on NLP, all available through Amazon and Indigo, Living Your Purpose: The Heart of NLP, Resilience: Grow Stronger in a Time of Crisis and Shifts: A Tool Kit For A Better You.
